ANI-3114: Subaru

Owned by brigetmiget

Subaru is the other half to our foundation Japanese Wolf Breeding pair. She was discovered being kept in a small cage owned by a traveling carnival that had trafficed her from what we assume was a poacher. After her rescue a lengthy rehabilitation process started with helping her gain weight, get used to eating proper food, and getting all of the proper vetrinary care she needed. Once that was completed she was released into our Japanese Wolf Enclosure with our resident male, Honda. While there was a bit of a rocky start where we believed we might have to seperate them they soon grew fond of each other and are now quite inseperable.

Due to her upbringing by humans and the neglect she faced at their hands it was determined that Subaru was not fit to be released into the wild and that she would best benefit from staying here at the sanctuary. Shes extremely skittish of humans but does enjoy the enrichment activities we leave in the enclosure for them. So far she has been an extremely attentive mother and does amazing with her pups.
